The performance of the Fujitsu MPF3204AT is quite good with Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE. The power save features can reduce power consumption when the disk is not in use.

The Fujitsu MPF3204AT is comparatively loud and testing it with the SPL meter showed it to above 40 dB when not installed. Installed it was still above 38 dB. The source of the noise is the head assembly seeking tracks. Fujitsu’s manual suggests a slightly lower value (36 bB) than my meter shows.

Some machines cannot use the Fujitsu MPF3204AT due to BIOS limitations. The Pentium III machines are usually OK but the Pentium II and socket 7 machines may have issues. Check manuals for hard disk compatibility.

With LBA capable motherboards the disk is automatically configured. Manual CHS settings call for 16,383, 16, 63 which will handle the capacity of the Fujitsu MPF3204AT,
