The Toshiba A100-0FH comes with a 100MB hard disk that is adequate for most general office type use. The LCD is good quality and bright enough to be easily visible under commercial fluorescent lighting.

The machine supports lager capacity disks and we installed an available 160GB disk which provided some additional space for various programs we use.

The DVD drive is very versatile and it is handy for recording backups for safe keeping. The side USB ports are helpful for memory sticks. There are also 2 on the rear of the machine for a printer and wireless mouse etc.

The front panel has a volume control, earphone and microphone and card reader. The card reader can handle Sony memory sticks and CD cards.

The touchpad is relatively good but we prefer to use a mouse with Windows. Considering this machine is not very mobile the mouse makes sense. The battery, when new, lasts a bit over 3 hours when we tested this machine.

The machine came with Windows Vista which was not very popular but with service packs it became much more usable.

The Intel GMA 950 is adequate to play DVD video from the machine’s DVD drive. There is a VGA port for presentations.
