Bioshock was released August 21, 2007 by 2K Games. The game was developed by 2K Games. Bioshock is a first person shooter.

This game uses disc checks and Securom, Macromedia, Starforce, Tagès and other protection systems are being rejected by Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 for security reasons (KB3086255).

Bioshock is a shooter unlike any you’ve ever played, loaded with weapons and tactics never seen. Unless you have played System Shock 2,

In Bioshock you’ll have a complete arsenal at your disposal from simple revolvers to grenade launchers and chemical throwers, but you’ll also be forced to genetically modify your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon: you. Injectable plasmids give you super human powers: blast electrical currents into water to electrocute multiple enemies, or freeze them solid and obliterate them with the swing of a wrench.

Bioshock starts off with the player in water after his aircraft crashes. He has to then get out of the water and inside. The first weapon is a wrench which can be used to kill the first few enemies. The artwork in the game is surprisingly good with water all over which can make it demanding when played at 1920×1080.

The story of the game is an absolute masterpiece! In 1946 an underwater city called Rapture , is built by a wealthy Russian immigrant called Andrew Ryan so it can escape the outer world’s laws and government and create its own which is mainly based on the rich people’s desires thus making the poor to start a rebellion later on.

The Utopia was really a nightmare, Water is leaking in everywhere, everything is in disarray, and hideously deformed corpses litter nearly every room. To top it all off, you’re now stuck inside. From here on out, you’re on your own with flashes of a young girl who gives you ideas.

The game is a hybrid role playing game and first person shooter. As play goes on new quests are presented. The game story unfolds as the player becomes more familiar with the game mechanics.

The player can switch between one active weapon and one active plasmid at any time, allowing them to find combination attacks that can be effective against certain enemies, such as first shocking a Splicer then striking them down with a wrench. Weapons are limited by ammunition that the player collects; many weapons have secondary ammo types that can be used instead for additional benefits, such as bullets that inflict fire damage. Plasmid use consumes a serum called EVE which can be restored using EVE syringes collected by the player.

There is a total of 8 different weapons in Bioshock. Ammo is constantly in limited supply. The mouse wheel can switch them as desired. The right mouse switches from the plasma and the weapon. You can wander around in the game but the maps are typically pretty linear.

To help guide the player there is a indicator to help get through the maps. This is uncommon in games which one feature that made this game very popular.
