We have been using an iPhone 5S with Windows connected by Bluetooth for a long time. The goal was for testing features.
Windows Hello in Windows 10 can detect if a machine is no longer connected to the iPhone and it automatically locks the machine. The range of Bluetooth is limited which makes it simple, if Windows cannot detect the phone it assumes the user is out of the office.
The bug is in the device manager. There are two devices that are shown in other devices instead of properly being shown in the Bluetooth category.
Device descriptors are quite complicated and sometimes a developer forgets to check all the components involved. The device manager says there are no driver related suggesting it’s a Windows core component.
