Clicker Heroes was released on May 13, 2015 by Platysaurus . The game was developed by Platysaurus . Clicker Heroes is an isometric click and management game.

Ever wondered what one quadrillion damage per second feels like? Wonder no more! Embark on your quest to attain it today! Start out by clicking on the monster to kill them, and get their gold. Spend that gold on hiring new heroes and get more damage. The more damage you deal, the more gold you will get.

There’s no real strategy, no real purpose, it’s just clicking mindlessly and spending ‘rewards’ to get things to click for you faster. The game is free to play and its easy enough to grind along as a free player. The game has Steam achievements to motivate more game play. The game runs in the background so overtime a player will slowly get more achievements and level ups etc.

The game is very casual, there is no rush to do anything right away. It can run in the background until you get around to it. Even when it is running its very slack and there is no pressure to do anything.

At the start of the game the player clicks in the critter on the right side platform. This provides coins which are used widely in the game. Eventually the click damage becomes pointless as the idle damage increases.

On the left hand side are heroes that you can hire to help with the gameplay. The first hero, Cid, can increase your click effectiveness. The second hero, Treebeast, automates the click action so that the player can focus on other aspects of the game.

Each successive hero increases the damage rate. This allows the player to get past the boss which is present at every 5th level.

For new players the first hero to get stuck at is Frostleaf. It takes a few ascend iterations. With more hero souls the DPS increases and higher levels increase the amount of credits that can be used to level up heroes. There is a cycle of DPS, levels and more hero souls as the levels rise.

In total with the updates there are now 170 heroes that can be hired. Each one is typically much harder to reach.

Once certain heroes are upgraded enough, power ups are enabled in the bar beside the heroes. Cid, for example, can provide a 30 second click storm at level 150. There is a total of 9 power ups that can be used to try to move past a boss level in order to collect more coins.

Once the player reaches about level 60 or so, the goldfish/candy/pie/candycane easter eggs will appear. Clicking on it will provide some bonus coins. Occasionally they will also provide a ruby.

The bumblebee needs about 60-70 clicks. Bonus coins are provided and one of the power ups is activated randomly.

Rubies are the in-game currency. Over time the game does provide some rubies and they are best spent on autoclickers which will become more helpful with higher levels. Autoclickers do get more expensive as they accumulate.

With the game restart, the player now has some hero souls. At the top of the heroes are some tabs and the triangle is the ancient series. For the cost of some heroes, the player can summon an ancient for the cost of some hero souls. The are several ancients. When summoned, the game offers four from which the player may select from. The ancients can also be increased in level to increase their effectiveness. The total cost to summon all of the ancients is 183161 Hero Souls.

With the June update came the new relics system. You get a random relic when you kill a relic ooze. Relic oozes only spawn once per ascension after zone 99, and only after your first ascension. Unused relics can be salvaged but no point leveling any of them up.

Eventually the player will reach a point where gameplay does not provide nearly to enough coins to continue. One of the heroes has a game reset that provides several hero souls. Restarting the game retains the gilded heroes, rubies and other items. The game will have to be restarted several dozen times to accumulate enough gilded heroes and ancients. There are several achievements for restarts.

Eventually the player will find that they are stuck at Frostleaf and cannot hire anymore heroes. This is to motivate the players to discover various aspects of the game. As levels go higher, more bonus hero souls are provided which increase the speed of a restart. The powerups can be used to get past the 30 second monsters and the game becomes a grind as the levels get higher and higher. The powerups can take 60 minutes to reset.

As the cycle continues, the number of hero souls increases which in turn increases the DPS. So as levels increase the progress slows but after level 100 there are more bonus hero souls which help to moved to higher levels over time. The ascendant bonus heroes can increase the number of hero souls quickly.

The 1e5 game update added a new transcendence to the game with another layer of activity. This resets the game but some credits for the new transcendental powers. Powers include increased effectiveness of bonuses etc. Focus on Bubos for reaching the the higher zones.
