341.81 was released on August 25, 2015 for legacy cards from the GeForce 8 series and above for Windows 10.
Starting with 343 NVIDIA has indicated that more older cards will be dropped from receiving updates. This includes all of the Tesla shader 4 cards. This included the 8000 series, 9000 series and the GTx 200 series.
NVIDIA will still be providing updates for the 340 branch (340.xx) until 1st April 2016. But future driver enhancements and optimizations will be not be included. The Tesla architecture has long ago been optimized so no performance gains can be realistically expected.
Realistically old cards have very little capacity for gaming when compared to a modern $129 card. Our EVGA GTX 660 Ti much more powerful than even our old GTX 260 SLI. This means the scope of games is vastly improved.
