Remnith was released on August 29, 2017 by Chronish Games who also developed the game. Remnith is a virtual reality first person shooter.

Motion controllers, gamepads and mouse & keyboard setups are all supported. When using motion controllers you have a choice of a few locomotion options such as thumbstick/trackpad movement and teleportation. You can play either sitting or standing, the game isn’t room-scaled but you do need a 360 setup if you’re going to play standing without thumbstick/trackpad turning.

This game has a menu to select the traditional desktop mode or one of the two supported VR headsets: Oculus rift and HTC Vive. We find this developer has found the best middle ground between mainstream gaming and the enthusiast VR market.

  • 3 levels
  • 25 arena battles
  • 5 difficulty levels
  • Gigantic multi-barrel energy cannons

Remnith is a chaotic FPS where enemy units feed off of the energy of every shot that isn’t lodged directly into them. The more you miss the stronger they get.

Clearly the focus in Remnith is to improve accuracy. Crystals grow out of the area making the enemy stronger.  Gigantic multi-barrel energy cannons are upgraded as you progress.

Graphically this game is excellent. The game renders well both in desktop and VR mode, score one for taking the time to do it right.

The game features Steamworks and has trading cards.
