Destiny 2 was released on September 6, 2017 by Activision. The game was developed by Bungie.  Destiny 2 is an open world multiplayer first person shooter.

Destiny 2 is very much a role playing shooter. Games are player vs the environment and player v player.

Destiny 2 has a wide gamut of skill capability so that novices and the less experienced game player can have a positive experience. Then the game caters well to the enthusiast who can jump in. Bungie did a great job to be able to allow a range of skills.

After choosing a class, players select one of three species for their character: Human, Awoken (bluish-gray-skinned descendants of Humans), or Exo (humanoid machines). They can then customize their character, such as changing its gender or skin color. A character’s species is only cosmetic and does not affect gameplay.

Experience levels up players capabilities. Quests are given by NPC which provide rewards in addition to experience. Quests make up the a focus of the game.

Bungie did a good job with the combat system. Players can pick up various improvements in armour and these can be installed to improve the players level. The more the game is played the more resources can be be procured to improve the weapons and armour. Weapons are keybound to 1, 2 and 3. The 3 weapon tends to be the most powerful and its used mostly to handle boss attacks,

The game’s campaign reminds you of Halo, which Bungie did back in the day. There have been a couple campaigns that have been offered and then mothballed.

Bungie has changed the loot system a bit, mostly to help keep the game more interesting for  grinders. The randomized system was more favorable to novices. Bungle had to find some middle ground to make the persistent game playable. The graphics are excellent. The shadows are demanding which does pressure the video card a tad.

With each expansion there are some changes in the game and the nature of the enemies. For the most part the changes are mostly to make the game more manageable as it was becoming unwieldy.

The open world nature of Destiny 2 allows players to wander around on any of several planets, Each is a huge gameworld of its own. Even after over 100 of playing there is still much to be discovered and played. Destiny 2 delivers the perfect action game that is also very casual as players can come and go as they please.
