Hellpoint was released on February 28, 2018 by Cradle Games who also developed it. Hellpoint is an role playing game. A controller is recommended.

Hellpoint is an intense action RPG taking place on Irid Novo, a derelict space station soaked in an intoxicating dark sci fi atmosphere. Fight dreadful creatures, face the Cosmic Gods and unravel their twisted story. Should the challenge be too great, play with a friend in local or online coop.

Hellpoint supports split screen co-op and player versus player on all platforms. You can play the whole game with a friend, or have them jump up in and out anytime they likes. Everyone quickly lost their mind as their memories and bodies were merged with alternate versions of themselves from parallel universes. The accident also attracted entities of immense power that should have been left alone, in the depth of other dimensions. Many player on Steam have compared Hellpoint with Dark Souls which came out a few years ago. The setting is good; it’s dark and foreboding. The story is interesting and drip fed to you to keep the interest.

The player’s character is nameless whose intention govern the gameplay. The  story starts off with the player awakening aboard the space station Irid Novo  which is in orbit around a black hole. A the station continues to orbit the NPC characters become increasingly crazy. The game’s atmosphere is definitely its strongest characteristic. The game does an admirable job to develop the dynamics of the story.

The game has a leveling system  that unlocks new weapons and abilities as play continues. Hellpoint is procedurally generated so every time a new game is started, the game will be different. As you die, you are pulled away from your universe of origin, and you wake up into the next. The more you die, the more the world changes around you. Weapons have active and passive skills that are revealed after you use them for long enough. You can easily translate damage upgrade from one weapon to another. You can adjust the difficulty, if you feel that the game is too easy, adding even one level makes boss fights far more tense.

Invest in more health and stamina before anything else. Then put the minimum number of points towards whatever weapon requirements you need. Upgrading your weapon conductors influences your damage more than leveling up your stats. Shield bashing is a reliable way to stagger even the larger enemies. Parrying is trickier to pull off, and the parry window seems to depend on what shield you’re using, but it’s also quite powerful. One and two handed weapons are the same damage but the two handed can stagger the enemy more easily. Guns require more cognition.
