Trials of the Gauntlet was released on March 16, 2018 by Broken Dinosaur Studios. The game was developed by Patrick O’Connor, Joshua Suskalo, Christian Hall. Arthur Parker, Dorsey Ledger, Natalie O’Conner, Landon Creech and Nathan Landon. Trials of the Gauntlet is a metroidvania platform style game.

Broken Dinosaur Studios is an indie team of student game developers, designers, artists, musicians and creative writers, some of which, currently attending Full Sail University. “Trails of the Gauntlet” was our mid-term project and took 3 months from concept to completion.

The game offers roughly 1½-2 hours of gameplay. There are journals to collect and read which help develop the story. Other gear can also be collected and it can be traded at the store.There are some chests to find  too.

There are three different types of enemies and two different bosses. The game uses a parallax style of scrolling which is typical of the genre, There are breakable electrical items as puzzles to add to to the game action.

The game’s physics is comparatively good. The basic swinging around is properly done etc.

The game also has a brief tutorial to help players learn game mechanics.
