The Last Deadend was developed and released on May 5, 2018 by AzDimension. The Last Deadend is a horror action shooter.
In this game you kill different monsters and when you hit them, you can watch at splashes of blood.
The game developer is from Azerbaijan and this may be the first commercial game title from the country. The nation uses Latin, Georgian, Cyrillic and Persian writing for the local language. The small team of 12-15 that worked on this game make such a good job it is rare to see such attention to detail and color.
Gameplay is first person and sometimes its third person. The game world is inspired by Baku, Azerbaijan local architecture and culture. Baku has a rich history which makes it perfect for lore based stories.
The game contains a vast encyclopedia, containing articles about historical objects, characters, symbols, etc., that are strewn along the course of the game. In the game there are various items that can be selected, viewed from all sides, learn information about them. With the help of technological glasses, which the main character has, you can read and decipher the inscriptions in the ancient languages that are on the walls of the old city.
The player walks around a small area at the start of the game before becoming surprised by some mysterious attacks. Eventually the player is a building where they have to find a particular room.
The player picks up weapons as play continues. The game is more or less a shooter but the game has a lot of horror elements as well.
The game has several save points with cutscenes that help develop the backstory. The player will find themself wandering around all over the old Baku streets and the old mosques that are present.
The history of the Zoroastrians provides a rich cultural backdrop to the fight between good and evil. Archeological remains in Turfan, China, state that Zoroaster was born “2715 years after the Great Storm,” placing his birth at 1767 BC but this is disputed. The Greek figure he is 6000 years before the death of Plato at 6350 BC.
Zoroastrianism, although the smallest of the major religions of the world in the number of its adherents, is historically one of the most important. Its roots are in the proto-Indo-European spirituality that also produced the religions of India. It was the first of the world’s religions to be founded by an inspired prophetic reformer. It was influential on Mahayana Buddhism and especially on the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
Zoroastrianism introduced such concepts as a cosmic struggle between right and wrong, the primacy of ethical choice in human life, monotheism, a celestial hierarchy of spiritual beings (angels, archangels) that mediate between God and man, a judgment for each individual after death, the Coming of a Messiah at the end of this creation, and an apocalypse culminating in the final triumph of Good at the end of the historical cycle (Revelations of John).
The player becomes the “Chosen One” who must tackle the evil forces that threaten the modern world.
The game’s graphics are actually surprisingly above average. Tree leaves are animated to provide visual cues of wind and there are several trees in the game’s environment. The game uses a more realistic natural daylight color of materials. Baku tends to be overcast in the daytime. Street lamps act as a light source for the shaders for nighttime scenes. The old city of Baku is a maze that can take quite some time to figure out which does allow for enjoying the scenery but it also allows the game to develope the story..
