Samsung is now ramping up their second generation LPDDR4. This new memory is about 10% less power hungry which will be welcome news for mobile users.
The new DRAM will be on mobile devices launching late in the year or early 2019, Samsung said.
Samsung has combined four of the 10nm-class 16Gb LPDDR4X DRAM chips to create an 8GB LPDDR4X mobile DRAM package that has its thickness reduced by 20 percent, allowing for slimmer smartphones,
The South Korean tech giant will be offering 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB packages for clients.
Demand for lower prices for SSD have been met with more production. Samsung has continued to make more NAND memory for mobile users. Average selling prices for 500GB SSD are down 50-70% over the last 9 months.
