The AMD Radeon RX 590 is expected to launch on November 15, 2018 in about 2 weeks time.
- 12nm FinFET
- 36 GCN CU
- 2304 unified shaders
- Polaris 30
While the RX 590 has the same specs as the RX 580, the die shrink should get some performance gains. Realistically about 2-5% gains will be realized depending on the clock speed AMD can get out of the ASIC.
Depending on how AMD prices their RX 590, the GTX 1060’s reign will certainly be over and could even put a dent in 1070 sales..AMD has a new GPU that may be able to grab some market shared back from Nvidia.
This RX 590 was on on the roadmap for AMD but industry problems has pushed AMD to get a new GPU into the market for the holiday season.
The card will likely be a longer dual fan design to afford high clock speeds.
