It seems that ICANN regulations have been ignored and now is being held hostage. The vendor wants no less than $688 for the domain which is about 5,000 years of earning at current rates.

Sedo GmbH is the apparent vendor but an Israeli company is on the whois database.

Sedo’s twitter account has been suspended suggesting they are known fraudsters. I sent them a demand message. Personation and fraud are available as offences under common law. Perhaps these idiots would prefer to be extradited.

ICANN rules require notice if there is a deregistration, no such notice has been provided. So the intentional tort exists in law.

Clearly there are problems galore and it is increasingly apparent that international law is necessary.
