G2A UNDER FIRE AGAIN

G2A is under fire for publishing sponsored articles without disclosure.

Many reputable media use sponsored articles but they are indicated so that consumers can make an informed choice. This is akin to the way Facebook and Twitter use advertisements so that readers can see a business is paying to get into your feed.

Posting advertorial content and not clearly marking it as such is a breach of FTC rules in the US and Advertising Standards Authority regulations in the UK, and this is pretty blatant.

While some low life websites try to use click bait etc, page ranking is very poor.

G2A has been accused of selling game keys obtained by stolen credit cards etc. for a very long time. G2A claims this was unauthorized and that the employee that did this would be disciplined. Where we are, this is grounds for immediate termination. Now comes this crap. Due to allegations and worse we have avoided G2A as if it had plague and ebola etc.

Another operation on Hong Kong called SDKEY has been far less controversial. Like G2A they also offer an affiliate deal.

CHANGE PETITION

There is a petition from independent game developers who dislike G2A as they are selling keys that are not coming from the developers directly. We review a lot of independant games and we stand with them as an independent journalist.
