Over on the NewEgg site there are no EVGA RTX 2070 SUPER cards at all available. The EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER FTW3 ULTRA GAMING represents the best options they have with the triple fan cooler.
The RTX 2070 SUPER is very powerful and this card would provide a substantial improvement over the incumbent GTX 1060 3GB in use now.
With 2560 CUDA cores, this is much more than double the GTX 1060 which is why the card should perk up gaming on the LG 27UL500 panel.
The cost of the RTX 2060 SUPER is so high at present as to not be worth it compared to the RTX 2070. With only 2176 CUDA cores it’s a lot less powerful. The RTX 2080 has 3072 CUDA cores but it commands a disproportionately high price.
The RTX 2070 SUPER uses slightly less than double the power of the GTX 1060 for much more than double the performance so the relative TFLOPS per watt is improved with the Turing architecture. The RTX 2070 SUPER needs a pair of 8-pin PCIe cables which the Corsair AX860i has in abundance.
Given that there is a widespread shortage suggests perhaps digital coin miners are at it again. If that is the case then a provisional RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM would be helpful with some games that push the memory hard. There are lots of RX 580 8GB cards available at very low cost on eBay now.
