Checking a Newegg bookmark for MSI motherboards I noticed some MSI MAX motherboards which have the larger BIOS chip on them.
The MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max is identical the the version I have now except for the BIOS chip which is the larger 32MB. The BOM for the change was more than double for the 16MB chip but costs should come down rapidly with more demand. Compare the 32MB BIOS with the original 8KB BIOS from the original IBM PC.
The X570 generally has the larger BIOS chip but the older boards with the smaller ones had issues with AMD AGESA code being larger than expected. The upcoming B550 motherboards will also have the larger BIOS chip.
MSI announced the MAX line of boards some time ago and now they are increasingly available.
The advantages of the X570-A PRO outweighed selecting a lower tier motherboard. The X570 supports PCIe 4.0 which affords for faster SSD speeds in addition to improved overall performance.
For those who are unable to afford the X570 motherboards are the main reason MSI upgraded the entire portfolio.
