This is a good Terminator game and the post-apocalyptic world of the Terminator movies can be a great setting for video games in general. Terminator Resistance does a fine job recreating this world and the game is very immersive. The machines are an intimidating enemy and there are plenty of different types to deal with.
Terminator: Resistance is set in a post-apocalyptic 2028 and 2029 Los Angeles. Players take on the role of Jacob Rivers, a soldier from the Resistance led by John Connor against Skynet’s robotic killing machines. The game features multiple possible endings giving it some replay value.
In November 2020, a free update included a new game mode called Infiltrator mode, allowing players to play as a T-800 infiltrator as it clears scavenger, resistance and Tech-Com patrols and hold-outs to locate an officer of the Resistance known as Daniel Ramirez
- Run and gun or sneak and hack through Skynet’s defences!
- Level up your skills and explore a post-apocalyptic world for scraps to trade and craft!
- Interact with a motley group of survivors and change their fates!
Dated graphics, unsettling facial animations, inferior day lighting and simplistic gunplay are evidence of a limited budget. It takes some time to have the story pique your interest and it starts off like a very generic movie game that feels like it will be mediocre at best. Still the game’s story does grow on the player.
