The Bluetooth 5.0 support is provided by the Intel AX200 WiFi card. The problems are reproducible with a USB Bluetooth dongle as well.
Since Halo: MCC was released along with some updates for Windows audio with the Skullcandy Hesh 2 have been problematic at times. This is a list of games with audio problems:
- Alien Swarm Reactive Drop
- Destiny 2
- Doom 3 BFG Edition
- Dying Light
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Halo: MCC
So far only a couple tested have exhibited audio dropout problems. It seems to be an issue with the sound system in the game itself which suggests a fault in Windows as the games affected use different engines and tools etc.
Loading an affected game presents audio. Its when the game is being played the audio cuts out. The audio returns after the game returns to the menu.
Generally speaking the audio seems to be fine aside the games enumerated above. Rebooting the system does not resolve the problems.
Games that work fine include:
- Alien v Predator 2010
- Aliens: Colonial Marines
- Deux Ex: Revision
- The Last Deadend
- Quake IV
- Tales from the Borderlands
It seems that the problems are a mixed bag for which game is working and which one is not. With over 450 games it will take a lot of time to test them all.
Retesting games with problems are resolved with the Hesh 2 as wired headphones. This demonstrates that the bluetooth subsystem is at fault.
