Not for Broadcast was released on January 30, 2019 by tinyBuild. The game was developed by NotGames. Not for Broadcast is a broadcast simulation game.

This game contains content unsuitable for children or easily offended adults. There is frequent strong language, brief pixellated male and female nudity, and themes including euthanasia, conspiracy theories, radical politics, and atheism. Jokes about social issues are made throughout. There is occasional comic violence.

The game has released with 3 chapters ready to play. The developer has indicated there will eventually be 10 chapters which will be added over the coming months. Most likely development will continue into 2021.

If you wanted to learn how to operate a television channel, this is the place to be. Not For Broadcast has everything needed to help you learn the ropes.

In an alternate 1980s where the nation stumbles towards dystopia, join the National Nightly News team as they document the latest political scandal, the rise of a radical government, and which celebrity has for some reason written a book about it all.

You only came in to clean the studio – but in a bizarre twist of fate, it’s now up to you to determine exactly what goes on air.

The game is an immersive, narrative-driven propaganda sim that lets you set the agenda. Mix four camera feeds, choose the headlines, bleep the bad language – all under the pressure of a live broadcast. Will you censor the news and be rewarded, or expose the truth and live with the consequences?

This game reminds me of shows like Geraldo Rivera who did many zany things in his show before it was cancelled. Years ago television was maybe a tad more outlandish compared to today.

Since the game was released there have been a couple of large updates. One large update added a telethon for a change. Clearly the developer has come up with several excellent ideas for this zany television station simulation.
