Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks has been hit with Ransomware and evidently some 756GB of privileged data has been copied.

We have hired the world’s experts who specialise in this area, and we are working around the clock to address these matters.”

According to multiple news outlets, the hackers are threatening to expose a 746GB data cache, which includes contracts, nondisclosure agreements, phone numbers, email addresses, and personal correspondence, if they do not receive payment of an undisclosed amount.

The ransomware which targeted the law firm could be REvil Ransomware and the hackers are likely expecting around 12 Bitcoins as ransom in exchange for the decryption key.

REvil ransomware victims include Brooks International, 10X Genomics, Kenneth Cole, and National Association of Eating Disorders. And Travelex which became a victim of the said ransomware had to pay $2.3 million to free up its files from the malware.

Nobody should take security for granted. Hackers are constantly seeking anything they can get their hands on. Vast numbers of corporations world wide have been hacked. Most get hacked with malware ruses etc.
