MAJOR WINDOWS BUG

I had to swap out the sick AX860i which does not work properly. It appears that the solder in the unit was damaged. I installed a old spare while I look around for a replacement Corsair PSU.

I then flashed the BIOS with a new one on the MSI X470 Gaming Plus. After enabling UEFI and booting the machine a problem emerged.

Windows said the PIN was not available. It suggested rebooting might fix it. After several reboots Windows refused to let me log in with this PIN message. The BIOS was reset when I upgraded it.

At no time was I able to get past this error. No choice of using a password. So effectively I am locked out of Windows. Safe mode did not work either.

I ended up installing windows fresh as it was obvious this defect in Windows has to be fixed.

WARNING: DO NOT UPDATE YOUR BIOS WITH WINDOWS 2004

The BIOS reset locks out your machine.

SECOND PHONE NEEDED

The MSFT authenticator does not work either. Only solution is a second smartphone that is setup with the recovery email account. This means spending double on telephony costs.

I demanded $50,000 from MSFT for locking me out of my machine. Now they owe double that for locking out a machine a second time.
