Samsung has announced that they are now moving their monitor manufacturing from China to Hi-tech Park (District 9, Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam.

Samsung is looking to minimize supply chain disruptions and Vietnam has several advantages. Being a coastal nation, Vietnam has many opportunities for container ports etc.

At present, Samsung is the single largest foreign investor in Vietnam totalling $17 billion in investments. The shifting of PC monitor factories will make Vietnam the world’s largest Samsung monitor supplier.

Vietnam has expanded from agricultural deals to attracting more industrials to the nation. The people have been very optimistic.

Many comments in the Vietnamese forum were happy at the news. The post on Samsung’s website was removed for some reason.
