PLAYSTATION 5: LAUNCH

The new Sony Playstation 5 launches today in North America, Japan, South Korea and Australia. Sony has a wide range of new games ready for launch day.

The PlayStation 5 has a solid-state drive customized for high-speed data streaming to enable significant improvements in graphical performance.

It has a custom AMD GPU capable of ray tracing, 4K resolution display at up to 120 frames per second, 3D audio effects, and backward compatibility with most PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR games.

Limited supplies for launch day resulted in sold out status for vendors in North America and it appears that other nations are also finding supplies tight. Sony seems to have underestimated the launch day rush.

No surprise to see lot of PS5 console for sale on eBay for marked up prices. Even auctions are well above the launch price. Ebay shows a little over 6,000 consoles for sale.

Sony has a good supply line so manufacturing more consoles will not take long.

Depending on the forum or twitter thread some comments such as Betastation and Slowstation are used to describe the PS5. Game bugs and system bugs are commonplace with new console launches.
