On November 7, 2020, EA has announced that a remastered version of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 are in development. This includes the related DLC. EA said release day is May 14, 2021. The package is called Mass Effect: Legendary Edition The games are all redesigned to take advantage of 4K UHD graphics.
While the press release suggested it would be on Steam, it was not in the store for wishlist use. This suggests the game will be sold in the Origin loader.
The game has been cleaned up with some visual improvements, The animations have also been revamped.
Levels with greenery have added vines, or perhaps more puddles on the ground. During a flyover of a stage that is full of trees, leaves slowly floated to the ground as smoke billowed in the distance. Another scene saw an alien ship with a current running through it, while a fiery planet’s magma bubbled like a cauldron. Ocean waves waxed and waned naturally, as water does. The changes are designed to modernize the look of the game world. The game story and script remain the same.
