On a console forum I occasionally visit there is a bunch of posts about the PS5 controller. Evidently the controller even when sitting on the coffee table tends to drift on the screen. Stick and button issues are common complaints.

Various threads suggest problems surfaced after 100+ hours of use. Some accuse the controller but there is a chance that the console may have a bug in the firmware. Many tried several controllers in a bid to find one that worked right suggesting several were frustrated with the problem.

By now somebody has reported this to Sony so that they can look into the problem. The cost of sending back a defective controller is also a problem.

Way back with the PS4 there were some comments over drift with the controller. The issue of drift goes back to the early days on the PC with early simple controllers. It’s not a new phenomenon. Still it can be unsettling to some.
