Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a popular games. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently launched on November 13, 2020 so the developer may not have adequately tested the game. The game was developed by Raven and Treyarch who are fairly mature game developers.

Several Xbox console peasants reported that the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is not launching on any of the Xbox One consoles. The game is not on Steam so its PC player base is a lot smaller than it could be. The game is about 195 GB of storage on the Xbox series consoles.

In a different thread Xbox users are having widespread issues with the Xbox store. The threads have grown substantially with a lot of angry controllers are screaming where is my game!.

A thread concerning crashing has surfaced as well with the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. It does seem that there is a lot of issues with this game. Complaints are also seen on the older Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles suggesting the game issues are widespread. Not many on the Playstation forums even mentioning the game.

Many have reported the game prompted to buy the game over again instead of simply launching. This suggests there are some serious problems. Some reported problems with a February 11, 2021 update but the threads linked here are older.

Xbox users with the game disk are reporting it works on the Xbox One, but on the Xbox Series X|S. Some are reporting Error code: 0x87de272b etc.
