On the heels of the RTX 3060 launch NVIDIA has indicated their new RTX 3080 Ti will also be hash limited to make the card unappealing to coin miners. NVIDIA is acutely aware of the wrath from games who have been screwed for video cards for the last 18 months or so.

NVIDIA is aware that drivers will be tampered with so that is why the card will have firmware restrictions. This is designed to make sure the cards are not used for mining.

NVIDIA recently introduced products for mining and the company wants miners to use these products instead of using video cards which are designed for gaming.

NVIDIA recently announced a new targeted device aimed at Ethereum miners. NVIDIA CMP allows a fully open, airflow-optimized bracket and is configured to allow a greater number of GPUs to be controlled by one CPU. The CMP hardware will be available over the next 3-6 months. Available from authorized partners, including ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, Palit, and PC Partner. More will be made available one the mining hardware is available.
