WINDOWS 10 KB5000802

KB5000802 is intended for Windows 10 2004 and Windows Server 2004.

  • This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.
  • Addresses an elevation of privilege security vulnerability documented in CVE-2021-1640 related to print jobs submitted to “FILE:” ports. After installing Windows updates from March 9, 2021 and later, print jobs that are in a pending state before restarting the print spooler service or restarting the OS will remain in an error state. Manually delete the affected print jobs and resubmit them to the print queue when the print spooler service is online.
  • Security updates to the Windows Shell, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Management, Windows Apps, Windows User Account Control (UAC), Windows Virtualization, the Windows Kernel, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge Legacy, and Windows Media.

Microsoft has mentioned earlier about some changes for those with very small system volumes. It is advisable to replace machines with 32GB of embedded storage for new ones with 256GB or more now that flash memory is so much less costly. This is due to the fact that Windows 10 is slightly larger than Windows 8 or Windows 7.

ISSUES

Some reports of printer problems. The Canon MB2320 is a network resource which does not seem to be a problem for scanning, printing or faxing.

Press Win+R and run printmanagement.msc. Expand Print Servers, expand your computer’s name, and select Printers. You can now see the Driver Type for each of your installed printer drivers. If you receive the error, Windows cannot find ‘printmanagement.msc’. then select Start and type manage optional features and select it. Select Add a Feature and type print, select the check box next to Print Management Console and select install.

You will need to replace the KX driver or universal printing. Change it to the native driver for your printer.
