Til Nord was released on April 13, 2021 by Breda University of Applied Sciences. The game was developed by Moose Attack Studios. Til Nord is a snowmobile simulator.
Discover a sublime open world on your snowmobile! Drive among the frozen environment of Snøfall øyer to discover beautiful vistas, time trials and quests that permanently change the open world in Til Nord; a free snowmobile driving game for PC.
Til Nord is being made as part of 2020-2021 IGAD’s Year 3 project. Special thanks to our teachers, peers and lecturers that made this game possible. It seems that the University is learning that game development is a practical vocation for students.
As you travel all over Snøfall øyer, plenty of missions will await you. Fix the power of a lighthouse, race in various time trials, and discover more of the story of Til Nord. The game reveals story similar to many role playing games.
As a novice snowmobile driver, explore the island and find experiences all over the island. Go up a high mountain to see the northern lights, race to find a mysterious lighthouse and much more.
Gameplay is a large 3D open world and the player can pretty much go where they want. The physics in Til Nord is above average which is a real plus. The player is free to explore the snowy Norwegian mountains. There is a mission-chain which can be spotted easily by the huge vertical waypoints, that Til Nord uses to guide the way. The missions explore most of the area. There are also races, that unlock other races when you finish with any time. All races also have an achievement for beating a certain time.
The Breda University (Netherlands) evidently is teaching game development as part of their applied sciences program. Gaming is very competitive which is something better learned in economics and law. It can cost a lot of man hours to make a successful game but it can cost as much to market the game to drum up sales. Having played several of the games from the University, Til Nord definitely seems very playable and the snow is an interesting choice for game design.
