It seems that somebody was trying to smuggle some Intel processors into China lately. Usually it’s miscreants selling counterfeit hardware. China Customs has sent images to local media showing the folly of the smugglers who seem to be abundant. Recall an earlier bust of a boatload of video cards.
The accused had devices taped to their legs and torso and border security was able to arrest a person.
The large numbers of processors shown by China Customs. It can be seen that the customs officer has removed a total of 256 CPUs from the arrested driver, and can see that the CPUs seized this time include multiple Intel Core i7-10700 and Core i9-10900K .
The report is in Chinese so I pulled some photos to show what customs had seized. Evidently smuggling is a problem in China which is all the more amusing about some processors.
