Every one of my loyal readers feel as I do that MSI, XFX, Gigabyte, Power Color, Zotac, PNY, Colorful, Gainward, Palit, SPARKLE, GALAX, Leadtek, Inno3D, Sapphire and EVGA et alia have all turned their back on gaming. What did we do to deserve such disrespect?
Local vendors have few video cards and those that are available are double MSRP. They can shove it where the sun does not shine. Gamers are not interested padding the ungainly profits of manufacturers.
Propaganda from NVIDIA months ago has not resulted in more RTX Ampere cards. Perhaps they are awaiting Samsung or TSMC to make more wafters?
Price gouging occurs when a seller increases the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. Usually, this event occurs after a demand or supply shock.
AMD never intended to sell cards to games. Instead they sold them by the containerfull to miners. Fuck bitcoin and its derivatives. If you do not believe me, read the saga of MSI RX 470 cards by the boatload. So anyone who disputes my claims, up yours.
Over in Iran who have been under brutal sanctions since the overthrow of the Shaw, Bitcoin has been found to be one way to pay for imports as oil cannot be sold. Power outages have forced the government to shut down mining temporarily while efforts to improve the power distribution system are underway. Iran has experienced numerous blackouts and the people are not happy.
China has been cracking down on Bitcoin etc. as much of the power is coal based. China desired to modernized into a green technology based economy but this will take decades to achieve. The US over the last 18 months has installed a spectacular amount of wind power which has been seen as green but steel is a carbon intense industry.
The term is similar to profiteering but can be distinguished by being short-term and localized and by being restricted to essentials such as food, clothing, shelter, medicine and equipment needed to preserve life and property. In jurisdictions where there is no such crime, the term may still be used to pressure firms to refrain from such behavior. The term is used directly in laws and regulations in the United States and Canada.
The COVID-19 sage is a global disaster that does not seem to have an end. Mutations ad nauseum seem to make the immunization moot. So many mutations now exist that annual immunization will be necessary. Even more worrisome is that polyvalent immunization will be needed,
For those with F- in economics, some morons think its fine to jack prices up exorbitantly. Tell that to the toilet paper that ran out when the shutdown in March 2020 caused widespread panic. It took months for more supplies to get ahead of the demand.
Bitcoin et alia are not regulated at all. As such they are illicit securities which violate securities law. Where is the Treasury or the FBI or even the SEC on this??? Everybody seems to be suffering from political abuses which impact the agencies mandated independence to enforce the law.
Any rational person would see that bitcoin et al are a Ponzi scheme which is illegal everywhere on the planet. Bernie Madoff ran the worse Ponzi scheme ever and he died in prison. Only reason he was even busted, the stock market tanked some 6,000 points.
I will repeat it again, don’t turn your back on gamers. Don’t do it.
