EVGA LHR CARDS STILL WAY ABOVE MSRP

I have assembled some lists of LHR cards from EVGA to search for. It seems that LHR cards are still selling far above MSRP and evidently mining concerns are now closer to completely breaking down the mining restrictions. The RTX 3080 can earn $5.80 per day while the LHR version earns $3.81 so even the reduced earning potential is why mining interests are buying the cards regardless. https://www.ebay.com/itm/294607917318 closed at US $1,520.00 which is double MSRP.

This suggests when the next series of cards from NVIDIA are designed, the resections will be reinforced substantially. ETH is moving away from proof of work to a new mentality called proof of stake. This will have an impact but what effect it will have in video cards remains to be seen. Next year new generations of video cards will come to market but unless steps are taken to block scalpers and miners the gaming community will see yet another generation of cards hijacked.

This new chart from China shows that the RTX 2060 12GB has been bought up by miners after they discovered it was better than the RTX 3060 for mining. This should push prices down for the RTX 3060 LHR significantly. Similarly the RTX 2070 Super is also better suggesting RTX Turing are now more coveted while RTX Ampere are coming up as less desirable. Many RTX Ampere cards are LHR which limits earnings substantially. LHR is driving mining back to RTX Turing.

RDNA cards are not as well liked as Polaris cards but when ETH changes over to proof of stake the dynamics of mining will change, RDNA and RDNA 2 cards should become more affordable once that change happens. The upcoming RDNA 3 cards are a real open question as to whether AMD plans too limit mining or not.

The RTX 3060 is fine for 1920×1080 gaming which is the best use of that card. The RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 are more suited to 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 gaming.

Gigabyte preparing multiple custom designs of GeForce RTX 3080 12GB and RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. The leak suggested that these are only Gigabyte branded cards and will not be a full release. The desire for a 16GB card stems from consoles which have 16GB and the memory support on the PC for loading game assets with RTX Ampere are favorable for gaming.
